What is the main objective of GRIP and the 2025 Group?
Our primary goal is to revitalise and enhance Grimsby town centre by fostering a positive and collaborative environment between local businesses, the community, and stakeholders.
How can I get involved with the "Be Part of the Positive" initiative?
There are several ways! From becoming a town centre champion, sharing our good news stories, attending our events, signing up for our "be part of the positive" initiative, or becoming a business member of the Great Grimsby Town Centre partnership. We welcome everyone who's passionate about Grimsby's future to join the 2025 Group. .
What benefits do I get from being a member of GRIP or the Great Grimsby Town Centre Partnership?
As a GRIP CIC member, you'll have access to a shared security comms app, and a two way radio which links to other users. The Great Grimsby Town Centre Partnership is a paying member initiative which helps to shape, influence, and vote on project initiatives which will enhance the look, feel and safety of the town for all.
Furthermore, you'll be joining a committed group of business owners and leaders who share your passion for Grimsby.
What does it mean to become a Town Centre Partnership, and why Grimsby?
The 2025 Group have done a huge amount of research on the different types of town centre improvement districts, using the expertise of the Institute of Place management who have a wealth of experience and knowledge.
A Business Improvement District (BID) is a levy on business rates for the businesses trading within a defined area which is then reinvested into the town. Research shows that this model is not right for Grimsby. There are many businesses across all sectors in North East Lincolnshire who want to be part of a community which attracts and retains workers, and is a vibrant place for them, their families and friends to be proud of.
Grimsby is a trailblazer in many respects, and with the help of the Institute of place Management, this is a bespoke model, one of the first in the country, and is open to businesses of all shapes and sizes with a common interest - making Grimsby town centre the best it can be.
