2025 Group Keeping Grimsby involved and informed as the town centre evolves

The 2025 Group is a community-led project established by Grimsby Retailers in Partnership (GRIP) CIC, bringing together businesses, organisations and partners who care about the future of Grimsby town centre.

Formed in 2023, the group exists to share clear, accessible information about what is happening across the town centre, celebrate progress, and help shift the narrative towards pride, possibility and collective involvement. Through its Be Part of the Positive approach, the 2025 Group focuses on open communication, honest storytelling and helping local people understand how regeneration is shaping the town centre.

As regeneration projects move from plans into delivery and completion, the 2025 Group now plays an active role in supporting town centre communication and engagement. This includes sharing updates on regeneration projects, highlighting placemaking improvements, promoting community spaces and events, and helping people see how the town centre is becoming a more welcoming place for culture, connection, support and everyday life.

Grimsby town centre is no longer just about retail. It is evolving into a more community-led place, shaped by a mix of businesses, services, culture and social spaces, and the 2025 Group is here to help that story be understood, shared and supported.

In 2026, as the large regeneration projects are finished or taking shape, now is the time for the business community to come together to be involved in shaping the future - not through a levied Business Improvement District, but through a bespoke Grimsby initiative, the Great Grimsby Town Centre Partnership.

So whether you would like to find out more about how you can stay informed and engaged through the 2025 Group, the GRIP security radio system, or how your organisation can join the Great Grimsby Town Partnership, please get in touch here

"Be Part Of The Positive"

Be Part of the Positive was created in response to the amount of negative conversation surrounding Grimsby town centre, much of it driven by uncertainty, lack of information and frustration about long-term change.

The purpose of the approach is not to ignore challenges, but to make sure people have access to clear, factual updates about the regeneration projects taking place, the investment being made, and the wider cultural and community changes happening alongside physical transformation.

By keeping people informed and involved, the 2025 Group aims to help shift the narrative from speculation to understanding, and from negativity to informed discussion about what the town centre is becoming.

As regeneration continues, Be Part of the Positive is about transparency, communication and helping the community see the full picture of how Grimsby town centre is evolving, not just what is changing, but why it matters.

The Great Grimsby Town Partnership

An evolution from a grant funded project, into a sustainable, long lasting legacy which will continue to engage through the 2025 Group, leveraging funding, partnerships, and initiatives which drive economic growth in the town centre, making it a vibrant, safe and attractive place for people to visit, stay, and explore.

Building on the successful partnership with the council to lead and shape the delivery of the High Street Accelerator and Green Spaces Fund, a pilot scheme ahead of the Pride in Place launch, which resulted in investment in new seating, planters and living walls, and security measures, the 2025 Group are strategically positioned to inform, shape, and leverage additional funding opportunities.

Working alongside experts from the Institute in Place Management, a bespoke Great Grimsby Town Partnership is an opportunity for organisations to have a stake in the future of the town.

"I have a lot of confidence in the future of our town over the next few years. The faith being shown by multiple investors between now and the end of 2025 is encouraging. I am also sure there are a lot more local entrepreneurs wanting to be part of the positive"
